How do I know which speed setting is right for me?
The individual heart rate is used as a guideline for setting the intensity of the vibration. The body begins burning fat at approximately 65% of the maximum pulse rate. While exercising, the pulse rate should generally be at 60 - 70% in the first few weeks. Within a few weeks of undertaking a routine of 3 workouts per week of 30 minutes each, the intensity can be increased to the optimal fat burning rate of 70 – 85% of your maximum pulse rate.
As a rule of thumb, the following formula is commonly used:
Maximum pulse rate: 220 minus your age in years = your individual maximum pulse rate per min.
Minimum pulse rate: Max PR x 0.7 = minimum pulse rate per min.
Highest pulse rate for exercising: Max PR x 0.85 = highest pulse rate per min.
