If you asked me, and probably any other Australian, back in the early eighties whether I would spend $3.50 on bottled water I would have laughed in your face. Even if I was stuck in the middle of the outback.
So what the bloody hell happened and why did we bottle it?
According to Cool Australia these are the facts about bottled water:
* It takes up to 3-7 litres of water and one litre of oil to produce one litre of bottled water.
* A recent Sydney Morning Herald article showed most consumers can’t t
Well we certainly can’t live without it. We can live without food for up to five weeks but we can only live without water for up to 5 days. In today’s world we cannot be certain exactly what is in the water we drink from the tap, or even the bottled water we buy. Is it pure water? What exactly is in our tap water and is it good for us?
In order to kill off harmful bacteria and other microorganisms to make clean water our drinking water is treated with a large number of chemicals. Along with these chemicals your water can contain toxic metal salts, hormones and pesticides, lead and more.
Chemicals typically found are:

Capacity and Specifications
What's the difference in flow rate between the Countertop and the Rhino?
The difference between the EQ-300 (Rhino) and the AQ-4000, is that the Rhino filters water at 38 litres per
minute, and the AQ-4000 filters water at ~ 2 litres per minute. This slower flow rate allows for a longer contact time with the media, and because it was designed to only filter 2400 litres (instead of 12,000,000), it can concentrate more heavily on more aggressive contaminants, like VOC's, MTBE and THM's.
Why will I still need a countertop if I am purchasing a Whole of House filter?
Because the Rhino was designed for whole house applications, and needs a higher flow rate, it is a 5 micron
filter which will remove sediment 4 times smaller than is visible to the unaided human eye. The AQ-4000, on
the other hand, is a .5 micron filter, that will remove cysts which are 40 times smaller than can be seen by
the human eye.
Filtered, Fresh and Healthy Water has NEVER been this easy….
The Aquasana Countertop is very easy to install, it only takes a few minutes to do and a plumber is not necessary. The unit will easily fit 99% of Australian homes without damaging or modifying existing plumbing; meaning the AQ 4000 is perfect for renters or non-permanent residents.

There are many different types of water filtration available to consumers nowadays which raises the question, how do you know which water is right for you?
Below is a brief description on each type of filtration we offer, to help make this complex decision a little easier for you...
'Standard' Water Filters come in two types; pitchers & carafe-style filters and carbon block & granular carbon filters. In recent years, pitchers & carafe-style filters have emerged as lowcost alternatives to tap water and bottled water and although they do offer a slightly improved alternative to tap water, they have very limited effectiveness and a low capacity.
Carbon Block and Granular Carbon Filters are the most common styles of countertop and under-the-sink systems (point of use). Granular carbon filters and carbon block systems use the same process of contaminant removal, adsorption, by which the contaminant bonds chemically or physically
Aquasana water filters are required to document the purity of the water they produce. This strict regulation allows consumers to accurately compare the performance.
The most stringent tests have been performed on the Aquasana products in California, USA. California has the strictest requirements in the States, with manufacturers required to have all promotional, advertising, websites and packaging materials reviewed by the Department Of Health for accuracy prior to certification.
The California Certification is one of the best ways to determine a product's performance capabilities.
